Encounters on the Tigris: Part 2 – Baghdad to Al-Kut

The second film begins in Baghdad to observe the enduring importance of the river for religious practice for the Mandean community. In Al-Kut we meet musicians and a Quranic scholar who explain the symbolic importance of water, and appearance of the Tigris, in both the Quran and various musical traditions.
