Lionel Messi arrived in Hong Kong on February 2, 2024, with his football team Inter Miami which is scheduled to play a friendly match against a Hong Kong team on February 4. Sportswear retailers in Hong Kong have seen customers flocking to their stores in search of jerseys with the team captain’s name. The clothing has been selling for up to HK$1,299 (US$166) while tickets to the friendly will range from around HK$800 (US$100) to as much as HK$4,800 (US$615) each.
