Revelers - When Yuba plays the Rumba on the tuba

Описание к видео Revelers - When Yuba plays the Rumba on the tuba

RCA master BS 70203-1, rec. New York, July 24 1931.
James Melton (tenor), Lewis James (tenor), Elliott Shaw (baritone), Wilfred Glenn (bass), and Frank Black (piano).
This is the last big hit of this most influential group, recorded during what was to be their last productive session for Victor (they recorded three more titles for the company in 1934 which remained unpublished). After that, the group concentrated on radio work and gradually drifted out of the public focus. They made a brief comeback in 1938, when they recorded a few religious titles for Decca, but these were not a success, and I have never seen a copy of any of their Decca sides. Anyway, the gentlemen might have preferred to be remembered for songs like this one, so enjoy it!
