Here is purely my personal opinion. Most people in Bangladesh do not want to marry outside their district. You will see some people have been in Dhaka for 20 years but will not marry in Dhaka. And the number of these people is high. Many believe that village girls are more polite and homely than city girls.

Advantages of getting married in a village:

You don't have to try to be rich if you marry in the village. Because most of the boys and girls of the village are used to living a normal life. And that's what they enjoy. Village girls are always married. So after marriage you don't have to worry about family anymore.

Disadvantages of village marriage:

I have more difficulty. Suppose you went to the market after messing around at home and saw everyone talking about that issue. Any word spreads quickly in the village. Everything is criticized in the village because everyone knows everyone. But that doesn't happen in the city. You fight at home and go downstairs for tea and you are perfectly polite.

Role of geographical location of bride/groom in marriage:

I don't think geography plays much of a role. If there is a good understanding between the bride and groom then the geographical location is not an issue. Many Bangladeshis are also intermarried with Japanese and Chinese. And if they are living happily then geography doesn't play much role.
