Here is some information about ‘The Country Show,’ (from Ronnie Pugh’s biography of Ernest Tubb):

• Filming began in November 1954 and continued until December 1956.

• Billboard reported that the first TV markets began showing The Country Show: With Stars of the Grand Ole Opry the week of January 20, 1955.

• Ernest Tubb hosted the program 24 times, out of the series’ total of 92 half-hour shows. He guested on another eighteen episodes.

• Producer Al Gannaway recalled that Tubb’s promptitude, his warm and genial personality and the ability to keep a show going helped establish him as favorite guest.
• Tubb set the record for fastest filming of a single episode: 37 minutes to film a 22 minute show.
