I know so many testers who think that they are QA engineers. They are so wrong that I decided to record a video about that. Testing is about breaking the software and finding bugs. QA is about watching the entire software development process and improving its quality indicators. They are two absolutely different activities.

Cem Kaner, Lessons Learned in Software Testing: A Context-Driven Approach, Wiley, 2001: “Your team may be called ‘quality assurance.’ Don’t let that go to your head. Your test results and bug reports provide information that facilitates the assurance of quality on the project, but that assurance results from the effort of the entire team.”
