In this hanbojutsu video, I demonstrate the 4 basic combat postures in the Ninja's stick fighting arts. The hanbo, or half-staff, is a short stick roughly 3 feet long. It was originally seen as a "what-if" weapon should your long staff weapon be cut during battle.

In today's world, the modern martial artist focused on real world self defense should see it as the primary stick weapon for defending yourself.
