In this interview I have the opportunity to chat with Prof. Asad Ahmed of the University of California, Berkeley. Asad Q. Ahmed is the Magistretti Distinguished Professor of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures and Professor of Arabic and Islamic Studies in the Department of Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures and Affiliate Faculty in the Department of Philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his B.A. in 2000 from Yale University, majoring from the Department of Philosophy and the Department of Literature. He was awarded a Ph.D. in 2007 from the Department of Near Eastern Studies, Princeton University.

We discuss Islamic philosophy generally speaking as well as the role of the philosopher in Islamic tradition and theology. This is a very interesting discussion so I encourage you to watch to the end!
