Black Mamba Catfish Rig | How and When To Fish | (Whisker Seeker Tackle)

I’ve been getting tons of questions about the Whisker Seeker Tackle Black Mamba catfish rig of recent with anglers wanting to learn how to rig the Black Mamba, when to fish it and exactly why you might want to use this catfish rig so this week I’m covering everything you need to know about the Whisker Seeker Tackle Black Mamba.

There’s tons of different catfish rigs you can use and what dictates that is often how to fish are biting or where they’re holding in the water column. It’s not uncommon to suspend baits with a float using a "Santee Rig” but often when you’re using big catfish baits to target trophy catfish (like giant pieces of cut bait) you have problems with getting short bites. The catfish will bite, pull and let go and a common reason for this is because when you use big baits the fish often grab the bait, pull and miss the hook. The way to prevent this is to down size baits or use a double hook rig and that’s where the Whisker Seeker Tackle Black Mamba comes in.
