Body of semi driver who crashed into Deer Creek found in truck's cab

Dive crews on Tuesday recovered the body of a semi truck driver who went missing the previous day when his tractor-trailer crashed through a guardrail on Highway 189 in Wasatch County and plunged into Deer Creek Reservoir.

According to a statement from the Utah Department of Public Safety, the semi was traveling southbound near mile marker 24 shortly after 7 p.m. Monday when it veered off the road and jackknifed before ultimately ending up in the water.

The vehicle was hauling propane, which remained afloat. However, the tractor portion was fully submerged and sunk to the bottom of the lake.
