1. Understand the question types and their respective solving methods.
Solve them on a priority basis:
Fill Ups
Fill in the Blanks
Diagram Labeling
Table Completion
True, False and Not Given
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Match the Headings
Match the paragraphs
Match the categories
Match the endings

2. Do not just locate the answers, but your focus should be on reasoning behind the answer. Why this answer was marked right and why your answer was marked wrong?

3. Transfer attentively, many students make silly errors. Avoid such silly mistakes.

3 Steps to achieve a desired band score in IELTS Listening.

1. IELTS Listening is a skill that can be mastered by understanding different question types:
Form-filling
Maps
Table-completion
Match the info
MCQs
Multiple-choice Questions
One-word Fill Ups

2. Once you are aware of the question types, it's important to use the gaps efficiently. When you are asked to read questions, you should be good at PREDICTIONS. This is the second skill you should aim for.

3. Thirdly, sometimes you might miss some answers, but it is really important to not get stuck at that point. It is always a prudent IELTS strategy to focus on the next question. The sooner to switch, the better it will be for you.

LISTENING TIPS

• Read the questions before each section of the recording begins.
• Use the pauses to prepare for the next set of questions.
• Study the instructions to find out what you have to write and where.
• Use the example at the beginning of the first section to familiarize yourself with the sound, the situation, and the speakers being played.
• Keep listening all the time, looking only at the questions that relate to the part
• Remember that the topics are non-technical and no more difficult for you than for students of other subjects.
• Answer questions in the order they appear on the Question Paper - they normally follow the order of information in the recording.
