PLEASE pause, slow down or rewind the video if it is too fast.
NO AUDIO. I tried, I failed. So I left it silent.
This video shows how to make a new fret (perde) on a Turkish Saz instrument. It concentrates on the knot process only and does not show preparation (removing strings & frets etc) and finishing (tuning, stringing etc).

Video is based on this tutorial from Engin Topuzkanamış:
   • Bağlama perdesi nasıl bağlanır?

Material needed:
Monofilament/Nanofilament fishing line in 0.35mm, cut to 1m pieces.
At least one package of new strings
Cutting devices like scissors and scalpel
one old bass string as a spacer. Or an item of similar thickness like a syringe, piece of wire, knitting needle...
lots of time and patience

The video starts with a close-up view, and then shows the process again in full view. It also contains some photos of the fretboard and knots for reference.

The process is broken down into 3 steps:
Wrapping the loops around the neck
Tying a knot behind those loops
Wrapping them loops to secure and tighten the whole construction

This process might also work for other DIY-made instrument fretboards.
