Sawan Somwar Vrat 2023: Day, Date, Rituals, Mantra and Significance ! Sawan Monday fast 2023 ! It is that time of the year again when Hindus gear up to mark the auspicious beginning of the Sawan month, also known as Shravan maas. This month is dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. Devotees also pray to Goddess Parvati during this time. According to the Hindu calendar, Sawan falls in the fifth month. All Mondays or Somwars falling in the month of Shravan or Sawan are considered auspicious for fasting by worshippers. They are known as Shravan Somwar or Sawan Somwar vrats. Many people also observe sixteen Mondays or Solah Somwar vrats during Sawan.
All The Fasting Dates During Sawan 2023
The month of Shravan, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva, will be observed for two months after around 19 years in 2023, and the main reason behind this is Malamas. The month of Shravan or Sawan will start on July 04, 2023 and will end on August 31, 2023.
There will be eight Mondays in the month, and the first Monday of Sawan will fall on July 10.
First Day of Sawan month - July 4, Tuesday
First Sawan Somwar Vrat - July 10, Monday
Second Sawan Somwar Vrat - July 17, Monday
Third Sawan Somwar Vrat – July 24, Monday
Fourth Sawan Somwar Vrat – July 31, Monday
Fifth Sawan Somwar Vrat - August 7, Monday
Sixth Sawan Somwar Vrat - August 14, Monday
seventh Sawan Somwar Vrat – August 21, Monday
Eight Sawan Somwar Vrat – August 28, Monday
Last Day of Sawan month - August 31, Thrsday

Sawan Somwar Rituals :-
1. People must wake up early (Brahm Muhurat), take holy bath and wear nice clean clothes.
2. Place an idol of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati and light a diya.
3. Offer white and red flowers, white sweets, Paan leaf along with elaichi, laung and Supari, five fruits and Panchamrit (mixture of Milk, Curd, Honey, Sugar and Ghee).
4. The devotees must offer clothes and Janeu to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
5. The female devotees can also offer shringaar to Goddess Parvati.
6. One must recite Shiva Chalisa and chant Lord Shiva Aarti.
7. The devotees must chant Mahamriyunjay Mantra 108 times on Rudraksh beads.
8. People must visit to temple on the day of sawan somvaar and perform abhishekam with Panchamrit to Shivalingam.
9. They should offer at least 11 or 21 Bel Patra, Bhaang and Dhatura to Shiva Lingam.
10. If possible then people must offer Ganga Jal to Lord Shiva while doing Abhishekam.
