Описание к видео Uinta Trailhead on the Ashley National Forest in Utah

Uinta Canyon Trailhead (7754ft. 40*37’52.88”N 110* 9’ 13.31” W) on the Ashley National Forest in Utah.
This trail leads to some majestic places. Krebs Basin Atwood basin, Painters Basin, Fox Lake, and Kidney Lake are all on the list.
The wilderness boundary is about 5 miles up the canyon in either direction. Both trails are long, but moderate in difficulty. If you go toward the Chain lakes you will have a slightly longer ways to go to get into the wilderness, but it is the closest lake at about 8 miles from the trailhead. Atwood would be your next closest just keep on the trail from Chain Lakes and go over Roberts Pass.
If you continue up Uinta Canyon you will come to a 4 way junction. Left will take you to Painter’s Basin; right will take you toward Fox Lake and Crescent Lake. Continue straight and you will hit the High Line Trail.
The lakes Uinta Canyon are stocked with fish on a 3-5 year rotation by the Utah Division of Natural Resources. The bigger and more popular lakes may be stocked more often. Species include primarily Cutthroat Trout and Brook Trout, with some Grayling and Tiger Trout. Cutthroats are the native species, and as others have been introduced they have sometimes outcompeted the Cutthroats, so in recent years some of the Brook Trout now stocked are sterile. Golden Trout are stocked in Atwood Lake.
A unique feature about Uinta canyon is the distance it follows the river and how deep the crevasse is. It seems like there is no access to the river as you dream about the fishing holes below. If you go toward Chain Lakes you have to cross a Sheep Bridge that spans the Uinta River.
As of September 2, 2005 campfires and wood stoves have been prohibited with ¼ mile of several lakes. All the Chain Lakes in Krebs Basin, Lake Atwood, Allen and Allred lakes in Atwood basin, Kidney Lake, Fox Lake, Dime lake, and Crescent Lake up Uinta Canyon. Several smaller lakes around the above lakes mentioned have the same restriction. Flyers are provided at the trailhead register with a specific list of which lakes are included in this closure. This is necessary because high elevation ecosystems produce dead and down woody debris (firewood) very slowly. Many years of heavy campfire use, combined with slow rates of natural recovery, have depleted firewood in popular camping areas. Firewood is important for animal and insect habitat, soil health, plant growth, and aesthetic quality and natural wilderness character. Please do not break limbs off of live tree in areas you can have fires.
Wilderness is a precious and fragile resource. A few simple rules of self-conduct will permit you to enjoy an exceptional wilderness experience. Enduring the quality of wilderness depends on you. Help protect the wilderness by following the wilderness regulations and incorporating wilderness ethics into your backcountry activities.
In the wilderness, you will have the opportunity to experience challenge, self-reliance, and the reward of discovery; but you are also responsible for your own safety. In an area that is unfamiliar or new, there are few posted signs, so you must know how to read a map and use a compass. You must be prepared for accidents and dramatic changes in weather.
Wilderness Areas are closed to all types of motor vehicles, mechanical transport, hang gliders, and bicycles. Activities specifically prohibited in the Wilderness Act are: commercial enterprises; roads and structures; the landing of aircraft; the use of motorized equipment; and motor or mechanical transport. Before visiting a Wilderness Area, check with the appropriate Forest Service office for regulations.
