Farvel, EA 3020 🇩🇰 Waving goodbye to the last Litra EA locomotive of

15.05.2021 marked the end of an era for the 🇩🇰 Danish state railways (DSB), as its last Litra EA electric locomotive was sent to Bulmarket Rail Cargo from 🇧🇬 Bulgaria.

This short video shows a farewell ceremony that took place a few days before the first-generation Danish electric was sent to its new home. And there were a few more 🔴 all-red machines from the DSB fleet to accompany it. 😉

💬 Built in 1992 in Vognfabrikken Scandia (Randers) as part of a consortium between leading manufacturers such as BBC, ABB, Siemens, and Henschel, EA 3020 was the last locomotive from the series to remain in service for DSB in Denmark.

🛑 EA 3020 had the honors of running the very last Litra EA commercial service in December 2020. While three of its siblings (EA 3010, 3022, and 3007) were sent to Bulgaria earlier in April (check out this video ➡️    • (ex)@DSBofficiel 🇩🇰 EA 3010, 3022, an...  ), it was only in mid-May of 2021 when 3020 departed to the ⛰️ Balkans. The reason? Special catenary test runs ran at up to 160 km/h - its last assignment for the locomotive.

The video was shot on 07.05.2021 at 🧜‍♀️ Copenhagen's Lokomotivværkstedet and features some EB and EA shunting, with lights on, pantos up ⚡️ and down, and - most importantly - the specific sounds 🎧 of the locomotive, ending (⚠️ spoiler alert) with a complete shut down of the vehicle.
