#DalitLivesMatterNepal introduces you to Caste Conversation with Mr. Pradip Pariyar who has been recently selected by The World Economic Forum as one of Young Global Leaders in its Class of 2020 for the contribution he has made to empower youth and promote social justice. In this first episode of the conversation, we have Prof. Dr. Kancha Ilaiah Shepherd as the guest speaker to discuss on "Why Dalit Lives Do Not Matter".

Prof. Shepherd is well known as Indian political theorist, writer and activist for Dalits rights. Contributing to internationalizing Dalit-Bahujan issues, he is one of the major figures in the ideological movement against the indian caste system. "Buffallo Nationalism", "God as a Political Phillosopher" and "Post-Hinduism India" are his published books. He was awarded the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Award in 2000 for his work. Prof. Shepherd has recently retired as Director of Centre for the Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP), Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad.
