This game, to me was everything good and bad about the XFL at this early stage.

Jerry Loller, of wrestling fame, has a wrestling character that is over the top and calls himself The King.

Well Jerry was obviously a real football person, because he is the least over the top person on the announcing team. He treats the whole thing with a conspicuous amount of reserve and respect.

Brian Bosworth ranges from overly religious one second, uncomfortably monogamous (Me thinkst he doth protest too much) the next, to racially insensitive. All the while being oblivious to any of the above.

However, he also has bursts of good football commentary throughout.

The football playing is reflective of guys who only had a 3 week pre season and barely knew one another. There are flashes of brilliance in both defense and running games.

Offensive cohesiveness between QB and receivers, is for the better part, not there yet.

But most of all, we are seeing the first time since the 1970's and the last time ever; Football players, playing REAL football. And this generation of players ranged from guys who would do well in that world and several who just began to fold from it.

Good defensive game.
