CRA Hosts - Future of Architecture in Carmel - March 2022

Our Guest Speaker is Brandon Swanson, Carmel-by-the-Sea City Director of Planning and Building. Brandon covered new State regulations and regional requirements for new housing in our Village. These topics included CA Senate Bills 8, 9 and 10, RHNA requirements for over 350 new dwelling units (yes, in our 1 sq mile Village!), also covering the nominal oversite of ADUs (Accessory Dwelling Units), the upcoming updates to our Design Guidelines & Zoning Codes and how his staff and the Planning Commission guide the architecture in our Village .
