A manatee was released back into the wild Thursday morning after suffering serious injuries from a boat propeller.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the injured manatee was found in the Manatee Pocket in Stuart back in May.

The Martin County Sheriff's Office said the manatee reportedly was sliced by a boat propeller. When MCSO and the FWC found the gentle giant the injuries were apparent.
