Cumbernauld Community Memorial Peace Garden has been developed by the Cumbernauld Environmental Society with the kind permission of North Lanarkshire Council. The garden was established from a formerly vacant and overgrown area of land next to Greenfaulds Bowling Club which has been turned into a thriving community garden, commemorating all those from the Cumbernauld area who lost their lives in service of their country from 1914 to the present day.

The project has seen a large number of community organisations; including Cumbernauld Rotary Club, local Scouts, military cadets, and Cumbernauld Environmental Society; work together to construct and maintain the new community green space.

You follow the road all the way until it comes to a dead-end in a free car park. This is for the Bowling Club and Peace Garden only.

Where possible come on foot! I promise it's a nice walk!

Walking:
** From the town centre ** head towards Lawrie Vets, via Hillcrest estate. Cross the big blue footbridge and stay on that path all the way to the other blue bridge that goes across the main road - keep Lawrie vets, the pharmacy etc on your right.

Once you walk across the bridge the Peace Garden car park is in front of you, as is the start of the woodland trail.

** If you are coming from North Carbrain ** make your way through the scheme heading towards the footbridge across the main road by The Jack Snipe pub. Go across that bridge and stay straight on the path it takes you through Abbotsford Road flats. You'll end up at a section of paths that form a triangle. The church with the white spire is on your left, the path to the Peace Garden is on your right.

Accessible for all! If your wheelchair is robust enough you could even try and use the woodland trail (when it's not muddy!)

NO BALL GAMES and please be respectful at all times. If you want to have a kick around there's an area of grass outside the garden heading towards Marmion Road play area.
