★☆ Final Fantasy III is the third installment in the Final Fantasy series, developed and published by Squaresoft. It is the first game in the series to feature auto-targeting and eliminate the previous games' text-heavy battle presentation. In the previous titles, attacks, spell names, damage registered, number of hits, and other info were displayed in cascading windows at the bottom of the screen. Final Fantasy III replaces this with damage shown on the enemy sprite after the attack.
