Here is my Modified Side Arm Burner. My build is based on the design by Larry Zoeller of Zoeller Forge. The design details and instructions can be found on the following Zoeller Forge page:

I changed a couple of details to suit what I had on hand and what parts I could find locally cheap. For example, Larry used an 1/8" pipe nipple to hold the MIG contact tip where I used 1/4" copper pipe to silver solder the tip to. I also made my own tapered "venturi" section using a developed truncated cone pattern to make the tapered section from an old piece of trailer mudguard and welded it up and on to the factory made T fitting. Please excuse the rough weld, I didn't bother grinding much of the galvanising off first.


You can get an app for your phone that will help you to make the cone so you don't have to try and remember your high school circle geometry. Look for an app like Flat Pattern Cone, then you only need a length and the diameters you want at both ends. The app will produce a flat pattern that you can transfer to your material and then cut it out.


I will post another video of the burner in action so that you can see how easy it will be to burn yourself.
