Spectrum march head-first into 2022 with this dark matter platter from one of Manchester's most respected DJs: Jozef K.

Following releases on the likes of True Romance, Rawax, Last Night On Earth and Frau Blau, Jozef maintains the spotlight heat with his debut on the label founded by one of his biggest influences.

'I remember I closed an event DJing after Joris Voorn when I was 19 in Manchester,' says Jozef. 'It was surreal; I had watched him playing a few times previously and was completely awestruck to play after him when I was basically a little kid.'

Now 32 and really hitting his stride, Jozef lands on Spectrum with a distinctive, discerning minimal sound. 'These two 2 tracks are an accurate representation of where I am at musically at the moment - dystopian, hypnotic and atmospheric.'

We couldn't put it better ourselves. Stripped right back to the most mesmerising elements, tailored for deep mix creativity or those magic 4am moments, we suspect this isn't the last we'll see of Jozef on Spectrum.

Spectrum was founded in 2016 by Joris Voorn as a record label and event series. The label has seen artists such as Monkey Safari, Marsh, Alex Kennon, Mees Salomé, VNTM and of course Joris Voorn release some popular tracks focused around Melodic House & Techno. Notable tracks to date include 'Little Darling' by Marsh, 'Safe' by Monkey Safari and some excellent Joris Voorn remixes of Alex Kennon's 'Blinding Lights' and Mees Salomé's 'Fools Paradise'. On the events side, Spectrum has hosted multiple events at Gashouder alongside Dutch promoter Awakenings, Input Dance Club as part of Off Sonar, the now-closed De Marktkantine, Tomorrowland, Space Miami and the Albert Hall in Manchester to name but a few.
