In this video, I am showing how I was able to troubleshoot the issue with our broken front load Samsung washer. This general approach may also work for fixing other brands of washers and dryers: LG, Whirlpool, Kenmore, Haier, Electrolux, Siemens, Bosch, Maytag, and more. The washing machine stopped turning on possibly after a thunderstorm. It was on the very last month of 5-year warranty and we filed a claim to get it repaired. The tech who came to look at it said it is most likely a fried main logic board. He said that our particular washer has two logic boards and he will order them both just in case. They didn't have the replacement parts in stock and the washe itself was already discontinued, so the stor we bouth it from offere up a full refund, which we gladly took. They also allowed us to keep the broken washer as well. I decided I have nothing to lose and decided to try fixing it myself. I was able to test and find out which of two logic board was bad using a simple digital multimeter tool. I found and ordered a replacement logic board online for less than $100. After I swapped the board, our washer started working again. I hope by sharing my experience I can help someone with a similar issue.
