Over the past several years, Ukraine has emerged as a prominent tech hub in Europe. Their schools and universities having a strong educational focus on math and programming, and many residents have gone on to work in the tech industry. Grammarly, (whose Ukrainian founders are now billionaires) was started there. Jan Koum, the billionaire founder of WhatsApp, was born there. Ring, Affirm, Snapchat, MacPaw and many more companies have offices in Ukraine. It was a bustling country full of tech startups...until now. However, many of those startup staffers have pivoted to something very different: joining the military. Mykola is one of many tech employees on the frontlines of Ukraine.
