Irish superstar Imelda May performs single Should've Been You on The Graham Norton Show

Friday 12 May, London - Irish superstar singer and songwriter Imelda May delivered a knock out performance of her new single ‘Should’ve Been You’ on The Graham Norton Show, which will be broadcasted tonight on BBC ONE at 10.35pm.

Imelda joined Graham and a host of guests including director Guy Ritchie, actor Charlie Hunnam, actress Billie Piper and comedian Jason Manford for a chat on the sofa, discussing her new album ‘Life. Love. Flesh. Blood’ and current UK tour. They also discussed a trip to Paris when she was younger, when her parents set up a tent for the family under the Eiffel Tower.

Imelda is currently touring the UK with strong media support, from Cambridge (“there’s probably never been a better time to see her live than now” °) to Southend (“unbelievably talented powerhouse of a singer” °°) high praise is pouring in for Imelda’s highly anticipated tour, which will include a sold-out night at the London Palladium on 18 May and three sold-out nights in Dublin. Imelda’s tour will continue in June when she joins Elvis Costello on tour in the US, alongside her own USA solo dates – further info below.

Imelda May recently topped the UK Americana chart with her highly praised new album ‘Life. Love. Flesh. Blood’, which also landed at No 5 in the UK official album chart spot - her second career Top 5 album - ahead of artists including Texas and Drake, with her strongest first sales week ever in the UK. The album has debuted at No.2 in her native Ireland, also with the highest first week sales of Imelda’s career. No surprise with ‘Life. Love. Flesh. Blood’ being one of the most critically acclaimed albums of this year. Praised by publications including Q, Uncut and Mojo (“A powerful new direction”), The Sun, The Mirror to the Mail On Sunday (who made it Album Of The Week, gave it four stars and stated: “Great albums tend to be growers, but this one grabs you at first acquaintance”). Support also comes from The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph (comparing it to Bob Dylan’s classic album ‘Blood On The Tracks’) alongside support from US industry publications Rolling Stone and Billboard Magazine as well as UK tastemaker music publications from The Arts Desk to The Four Oh Five.
