Sabrimala Yatra Guide :- The Sabarimala Ayyappa Swamy Temple is a Hindu temple located in the Periyar Tiger Reserve in the Western Ghat mountain ranges of Pathanamthitta district in Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, who is believed to be the son of Lord Shiva and the feminine form of Lord Vishnu (Mohini).
The Sabarimala Temple is considered to be one of the most sacred temples in India, and millions of devotees visit the temple every year. The temple is open only during certain days of the year, and the most important pilgrimage season is during the months of November to January, when the temple is open for 41 days.
The temple is known for its strict rules and regulations, which include a mandatory 41-day fasting period for male devotees before they can enter the temple. Women between the ages of 10 and 50 were previously not allowed to enter the temple, citing the celibate nature of Lord Ayyappa as the reason. However, this rule was lifted by the Supreme Court of India in 2018, leading to widespread protests and controversy.
Despite the controversy, the Sabarimala Temple remains an important pilgrimage destination for devotees of Lord Ayyappa, who consider the temple to be a place of great spiritual significance.
