The stunning "Angel of the North" is a unique 66 foot tall sculpture, which also includes the wingspan of 177 feet (larger than that of a Boeing 757). As of this date, it is considered the largest public angel sculpture in the world. Created in 1998, it is located in the area of Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, in northeastern England - with Newcastle upon Tyne as the most prominent city nearby. If you watch the British TV series "Vera" you may have noticed it in the opening credits of the show (this is how we first learned about it 10 years ago - finally seeing it up close in person for the 1st time in June 2023).
