So What is Pulpitis?
As we have studied in the previous lecture, pulpitis in simple words is the inflammation of the pulp.
Pulpitis is a process that occurs within the pulp when there is an external stimuli, like bacterial attack or mechanical trauma to the the pulp.
There are two types of pulpitis. Reversible pulpitis and Irreversible pulpitis.
Irreversible pulpitis is a chronic inflammatory condition of the pulp in which the pulp cannot revert back to it's original state even if the cause is removed.
Causes of irreversible pulpitis are similar to that of reversible pulpitis. Only the causes are now much more exaggerated.
