The Astro Engineering AC580 AlignMate is a telescope alignment tool that fits into the eyepiece holder and is designed to help the user accuratly level a telescope's optical tube, using the large clear bubble level, and, with the aid of the oil damped magnetic compass, point the instrument due North. The AlignMate is particulary useful for aligning Meade computorised GOTO instruments that employ thier patented 'level and north' initial alignment protocol.
