No need to masc up for the line-outs or the scrums! Though they’ve historically been the local gay men’s rugby team, the Seattle Quake is inclusive to all players.

Nathalie Graham didn’t know that when she had Miss Texas 1988 paint her in boy drag for a little “She’s the Man” moment at Quake practice under the SeaTac Airport flight path. But yeah, the Quake is open to everyone — a quality that benefits the queer players on the team who may never have played team sports before due to feeling like outsiders. It creates a special bond for the team, especially when they square off against the rest of the straight teams in their league.
