Vox AC4C1-12 four watt ‘bedroom’ amp | Dialling in that huge Vox tone

Описание к видео Vox AC4C1-12 four watt ‘bedroom’ amp | Dialling in that huge Vox tone

Hoping to dispel two misconceptions in diving into this low wattage Vox AC4. The first is that low wattage amps are quiet. Not true. Are they loud enough for a band situation, no, but sit in front of one for 20 minutes at half volume and you'll get it. Two, that they're tinny and flat and lack the low-end punch and sparkle of their louder counterparts.

Signal path for this recording is as follows:
- Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors 'Dasy' fuzz for the '61 intro jam, otherwise no grit pedals used.
- Boss RE-202 Space Echo used for reverb throughout
- Shure SM-57 mic into the Warm Audio WA12 mic-preamp
- Universal Audio Volt 276 interface

00:00 - Intro jam on the 1970 Gibson ES-340
00:24 - Intro jam on the 1961 Gibson Melody Maker
00:49 - Nob twirling and dialling in a tone
01:42 - My perfect tone and outro jam on the 1970 Gibson ES-340
