Homicide: Life on the Street - Getting Thrown Out of Giardello's Office

Another popular motif from #hlots was the quick-tempered Al "Gee" Giardello (Yaphet Kotto), dismissing detectives from his office, usually with a good door slam. Always a potent way to end a scene with a flourish. Here's a compilation of Gee excusing the following detectives: Crosetti (Jon Polito), Pembleton (Andre Braugher), Bayliss (Kyle Secor), Howard (Melissa Leo), Ballard (Callie Thorne). Hell, there's even a moment where Gee throws himself out of his own office, as a thoroughly bemused Bayliss turns to the camera and does a prototype of the Jim Halpert face effectively trademarked by John Krasinski on "The Office."

NB: for those who have trouble discerning some of Kotto's dialogue (you're not alone) in the clip where he throws out Pembleton, he says, "Don't let the door hit your hind parts as you leave!"
