Named "Çukurova" which is an area also known as Cilicia in south central Turkey.

The fleet grew during the 60's taking up jets in 1967 with the DC-9.
Airline growth has been steady since then.
On April 1st, 2008 Turkish Airlines joined the 20 member Star Alliance.
Miles and Smiles is their frequent flier program.
