Jimi Gear - Hometown Girls (Allentown, 19XX)

23-year-old solo rocker Jimi Gear contributed the standout track to Z-95's "8Tracs" LP which came out in the late 70s or early 80s. Putting two songs apiece on a compilation sponsored by Allentown, PA's Z-95 radio was an honor shared by four different artists including Gear, hence the clever title and art. Metallic Rainforest has featured a few other Z-95 compilation tracks in the past.

The sleeve states that Gear had been rockin' solo and in bands for 10 years by the time this came out. His teenage apprenticeship seems to have involved lessons in pop hooks and harmony guitars, although perhaps not feminist theory. Sometime after this appearance, Gear put out a 12" E.P. called "Extra Parts."
