John Barnes, Peter Beardsley Liverpool FC 1987-88 season: Highlights and news clips

It's rated by many Reds as the best ever season for sheer quality of football. In 1987-88, Kenny Dalglish’s side won the First Division title with a string of breathtaking performances, led by the brilliance of John Barnes and Peter Beardsley.

The Reds amassed 90 points, scored 87 goals and lifted the championship trophy with four games to spare.

In nine league matches they scored four times, twice they hit five and the Reds only failed to score in four First Division games that season.
