GFR बढ़ाए क्रिएटिनिन घटाए | Tips to Increase Glomerular Filtration Rate | Kidney Health
GFR measures kidney efficiency, and a decline signals reduced filtration ability, often due to kidney damage. High creatinine levels indicate poor waste removal, but lowering it incorrectly can weaken the body. In this video, Dr. Puru Dhawan explains how to improve GFR naturally, reverse kidney damage, and why weight loss isn't always a safe approach for kidney patients.
𝗨𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗙𝗥: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘁 𝗜𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝘁
Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) measures how well the kidneys filter blood and remove waste from the body. When the kidneys become damaged, waste products like urea and creatinine start to build up. As a result, creatinine levels increase, and GFR decreases. Basic details like age, gender, and creatinine levels are required to calculate GFR. Higher creatinine levels mean lower GFR.

Improving kidney function is essential for controlling creatinine levels. A biopsy reveals two types of kidney tissue: dead tissue and inflamed, weak tissue. The weak tissue can recover and start functioning again. As kidney function improves, creatinine levels begin to drop, and GFR will be high When creatinine levels decrease, kidney health improves, and issues like vision problems and numbness in the feet can also improve.

When muscle mass decreases, creatinine levels begin to drop. Patients often feel their health is improving, but the truth is that the creatinine level is not dropping because the kidneys are recovering; it's due to the loss of muscle mass. As the body continues to lose weight, weakness increases, and eventually, patients may struggle with basic activities like walking. Over time, this can cause creatinine levels to rise quickly.
