8IC Album

Описание к видео 8IC Album

Merry Christmas. As a gift, I thought I would share a project that has been a long work in the making. The 8 instrument challenge (8IC) is a concept built by NnolokK and I, in which we each contribute 4 instrument tracks to construct an overall song. Therefore, all of the songs here are built by both NnolokK and I, so go out and support his channel too :)
Another aspect of this challenge was randomizing the name. Basically, both NnolokK and I came up with a certain amount of names for each song and decreasing the number for each song. For example, the first song we came up with 8 names. Then, for the 2nd, we came up with 7. This happened for every song, with the last song getting the name we thought up of first.
(If any of these song titles seem weird, that is likely my fault lol)

Also keep in mind these songs were made in April/May. I am sorry it took this long to upload it. Im lazy.... ;-;

Song descriptions:

(0:00 ) Super Secret Adobe House:

The first ever 8IC, started by NnolokK. Here we tried to see if this concept was do-able. Sure enough, we loved the result enough to construct the whole album.

(1:08) Sprinkles:

started by NnolokK. Since we wrote a minor song, our goal was to now try to write a major one. Turned out pretty good imo

(2:53) Cosmic Brownie:

started by SkullyHop. This one posed a challenge, as the key was in the whole tone scale for the first half. Nevertheless, we executed it really well and changed it into minor in the 2nd half to make it easier for NnolokK to write a melody. This song will also be in a future album by SkullyHop.

(4:00) Codswallop:

started by SkullyHop. The goal was to make dubstep with limited instruments and between two people. Inspired by Xtrullor's song "Dropping Fish", yet is completely its own thing.

(5:13) Nocturne:

started by SkullyHop. A lo-fi and chill piece of music that is almost haunting in a way. Try to picture a cloudy night in a rooftop zen garden, where you are sitting all alone.

(6:51) They are Always There!:

started by NnolokK. By far the least well made song out of the 8. We tried to mimic the marches of Charles Ives (specifically "They are There"), but nonetheless failed at that cause we aren't experienced enough yet in that genre. This is a refined version at least, so you won't have to hear the original monstrosity.

(7:56) Marionette Masquerade:

started by NnolokK. One of my personal favorites from the album. What we pictured was a dance of string puppets, so make sure to listen and see if you can hear the marionette's dancing. ;)

(9:54) Carousel:

started by SkullyHop. The last song we created, and with a self-explanatory title. I hope that you enjoyed this, for these were a blast to make! Also, be sure to tell us which one was your favorite!

(Another thing: this is my first time actually using the filter tool on iMovie, so that's why there is so much stuff going on lol xD)

All songs constructed in GarageBand.
Background cover made in GIMP.
Video made and edited in iMovie.
