When Unega Mountain Dog Rescue saves a dog in the mountains, they work to reunite the dog with its owner. In the rugged Idaho mountains, when sheep move, they cover thousands of miles and it is not uncommon for animals to get lost. Before assuming the dogs have been abandoned, Unega will attempt to identify the owner and reunite the dog with them.

In instances where they cannot reunite the dog, they will take it in to the rescue and give it the proper care that it requires, from food to vet bills and everything in between.
