The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1 is a series of premium fixed-lens full-frame digital compact cameras made by Sony as part of its Cyber-shot line. The DSC-RX1 was the world's first fixed-lens, full-frame digital compact camera, and the world's smallest full-frame digital camera.

RX1 features a 35 mm f/2 Zeiss Sonnar lens with leaf shutter capable of a minimum shutter speed of 1/2000s (for apertures 2.0 to 4.0) to 1/4000s (for smaller apertures down to 22). The camera is equipped with a full-frame CMOS sensor, and it includes a Multi Interface hot shoe. Accessories included an articulating OLED electronic viewfinder (evf) called the FDA-EV1MK.

Based on DxOMark Sensor Scores (performance), the Sony DSC-RX1 received the best overall score among high-end compact cameras (mirrorless) tested during release.

The RX1 series are crafted from magnesium alloy and described by Sony as "hand assembled in Japan". The precise fit of the Carl Zeiss lens within the body, has been noted as a testament to its manufacturing quality made in Japan.

Bright high-resolution display
The 3.0” (1,229k-dot) Xtra Fine LCD display features accurate colors. Brightness is boosted by the white pixels, while blacks are deeper thanks to an enhanced AR (anti-reflection) coating and a layer of resin between the LCD and reinforced glass that together suppress light reflection when outdoors. Ambient light sensor auto adjusts brightness depending on environment.
