How to increase the number of moths in your moth trap!

Описание к видео How to increase the number of moths in your moth trap!

Firstly I explain about how important it is to keep your moth trap clean and in good repair. Then I discuss how a simple trick of polishing the vains of your moth trap will assist and help all moths to easily glide into the bowl of the moth trap.
I have witnessed how some moths like Hawkmoths and even micro moths have evaded going into the trap all because the catchment sides were dirty, sticky and unpolished.

Filmed in my wildlife garden where I have planted for nature including my wildlife pond which attracts dragonflies, moths and an array of pond creatures.

It is impossible to overstate the importance of moths and other insects in keeping ecosystems and humans healthy and functioning. They're the base of many food webs — supporting birds, mammals, amphibians, reptiles and fish. They cycle nutrients, aerate soil, and help pollinate more than 80% of the world's flowering plants.

Our insects are in deep trouble. They're dying out up to 8 times faster than larger animals, and 41% of insects face extinction.

In the UK, our insect populations have suffered drastic declines, which are set to have far-reaching consequences for both wildlife and people.

With as many as 87% of our plants, which includes a third of our food crops, pollinated by animals (the majority by insects), there is a lot to lose. Much of our wildlife, be it birds, bats, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals or fish, rely on insects for food. Without them, we risk the collapse of our natural world.
