This is an achive film taken 1992, just as the coal mines in South Yorkshire (and elsewhere) were coming to a close. This is one of the last workings of Goldthorpe Colliery supplying coal to a power station via a class 56. This used to be the old Wakefield - Edlington line. The short scene of pit is now an housing estate, of course the coaling tower, rail track and everything else has gone. So pleased I went along to capture this footage (with thanks to Lewis Jackson), as it cannot ever be repeated.
