I came across a log that had been laying in my yard for at least 14 years I know this because I never saw the tree up.
This Log weighs a ton and I Believe it to be some sort of pine. As soon as I cut it I recognized the sweet smell and goden color that came out of it. I also knew it was very trannslusent.
In desperation to sand it and geting the sandpaper all gummed up and the dust sticking back to the piece I decided to coat it with linseed oil than sanded it. That seemed to have helped.
Sticky stuff.
