Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert featuring the Bruce Saunders Sextet! We'll be using minimal amplification and enforcing our signature whisper policy to ensure guests and livestream viewers can enjoy the acoustic concert to its fullest potential.

Bruce, Terry and Mike have developed a real musical chemistry over the last few years, in part because during the first 18 months of the pandemic the trio would meet weekly to play. Bruce had safely partitioned his home studio, and playing together in an organ trio format was, for much of the time, their only musical outlet.

Over those many months, they tackled the music of Joe Henderson, Thelonious Monk, Wayne Shorter, Grant Green and of course, Wes Montgomery. As well as being one of the most important and revered jazz guitarists of all time, Montgomery was also a wonderful composer and arranger, and this trio will focus on some of his lesser-known compositions. Rather than try to recreate or mimic the original recordings and arrangements, the group aims to honor his legacy by filtering his music through their own musical history and vision.
