Описание к видео DIY easy-to-use vertical, hinged soap mold for perfectly shaped bars with cold-process soap.

Get perfectly shaped bars of soap from this vertical soap mold for cold-process soap making. The mold is designed for very easy removal of the block of soap. It is also designed to fit a three-pound batch of soap (three pounds of oils). The bars will be (exactly, or very close to) 3¾" x 2¼" x the thickness you choose. (I make mine an inch thick). The project includes a form for making perfect freezer-paper liners for the mold.

TOOLS (and other supplies)
Hammer
Drill with a 5/64" bit and a 3/32" bit (in the video I used a 7/64" which was too large).
Screwdriver
Pencil and/or a marker
Ruler
Glue
Hand-screw clamp (recommended)
Paper towels

HARDWARE (Amazon links are affiliate links)
Clasps (x4) (Here is an Amazon link: https://amzn.to/3r29A6m ) These are the ones shown in the video.
OR you can use the next type of clasp
Clasps (x4) These clasps https://amzn.to/3crGtoV are a much better, though somewhat more expensive. They allow for adjustment after they've been installed, and are sturdier than the clasps shown in the video. These do not come with screws.
Rubber feet (x4) (Here is an Amazon link: https://amzn.to/2Mozbro )
Door hinge (2½" works slightly better than 3”)
1½" nails
¾" nails/brads
½" pan-head screws

WOOD
A solid block of wood (made from whatever scraps you have around). Just make sure the final block measures 17¼" x 3⅝” x 2⅛”. This is used only as a form for making the freezer-paper liner.

17¼” x 5¼” x ¾” (two of these)
17¼” x 2¼” x ¾” (two of these)
3¾” x 1⅛” x ¾” (two of these)
5¼” x 3¾” x ¾”

3⅝” x 2⅛” x 5/16” — I got to 5/16” by trimming down a ¾” piece of wood. You can leave it at ¾”, but you’ll lose a little of the mold’s capacity.

If you have any questions about making or using this mold, please feel free to ask them in the comments section.
