OCR Webinar: The HIPAA Security Rule Risk Analysis Requirement

On October 31, 2023, OCR hosted a webinar that discussed the HIPAA Security Rule’s Risk Analysis requirement. The webinar discussed what is required to conduct an accurate and thorough assessment of potential risks and vulnerabilities to ePHI and reviewed common risk analysis deficiencies OCR has identified in its Security Rule investigations.

OCR’s Senior Advisor for Cybersecurity, Nick Heesters, presented the webinar, “The HIPPA Security Rule Risk Analysis Requirement,” to an audience of over 4,000 registrants.

The HIPAA Security Rule Risk Analysis requirement is a key and necessary step for effective cybersecurity and HIPAA Security Rule compliance. Unfortunately, OCR often identifies potential violations or compliance concerns in Security Rule investigations.
