Deconstructing Cataract Surgery 7 - Hydrodissection

Описание к видео Deconstructing Cataract Surgery 7 - Hydrodissection

This is the 7th in a series of videos - 'deconstructing cataract surgery' - designed to help surgeons in training develop a solid foundation in cataract surgery technique. Here we break hydrodissection down into 4 stages: no injection (defining the cortex cleaving plane), slow injection (controlled ejection of OVD to establish free flow), rapid pulse (creates the expanding ring of localised turbulence necessary for effective hydrodissection), and pressing posteriorly (to neutralise capsule block). The more work you do with the hydrodissection, the less stress you place on the zonule subsequently. So it is worth understanding these stages well, and repeating stages 3 and 4 to ballot lens within the capsular bag from both sides to help ensure that the lens is free to rotate.
