I used to have a model of every car my father ever owned. I remember them all except one by heart. Unfortunately, they got lost…? In the mail to Thailand. But anyway, to list all those, almost 60 cars of my Father, is a bit exaggerated.
My father was first a heating engineer in “my” time. When the Renault garage was built on the Prince Bernhard square in Amsterdam. Just before the opening in January 1960, I went to see him on my "bicycle". When the first cars came there, I went there with my father on opening day. There was also a very old Renault from 1900. It must have been at that time my interest in old cars arose. I also got a car book on my 10th birthday with the history of the invention of the car. Of which I still have a Photo.
From the age of 4, I can remember the first black Ford Anglia, and later a grey one. The car was always parked around the corner next to the Canal Bridge.
A Ford Anglia, what do I even say, we had several. The car for my time can be anything, I can't find it on the Internet, including a photo with my mother and I on the hood where I am less than a year old. So at the end of "53" or at the beginning of "54". A Germain DKW. I do remember is that we visited Germany every year and then went to the South of France. Every year a different route and often Switzerland. Now we (even when the family already consisted of five people always slept in the car beside the road. When the family expanded my father had an ingenious system of hammocks that were attached to the roof covering. My brother first slept there. And later my Sister came in in a hammock. I slept on the floor with my Father and Mother. All the seats were removed. Then came the Fiat 600 Multipla. That was A car! All the seats could be flattened, and everyone slept in the car again. The Fiat I can remember very well. I had selected it myself at the car fair in the Rai in Amsterdam. My Father had a new car every two years or 100,000Km. Which was paid for by the company KLEMFA where he later worked as a representative for everything in the field of stainless steel, valves, hose clamps, hose couplings basically everything for the chemical industry The Company KLEMFA no longer exists. Very formerly on the Raamgracht, Amsterdam, later a large building in City Breukelen. Enough about my Father. On the photos of the Ford Anglia, you can see sometimes the original license plate of my Father's car. Ford Anglia - * - NK-84-96
The Fiat Multipla, that's what I was talking about. THAT was “my” car. It wasn't a bus, it wasn't a car, it was an "it". So much space for such a small car. A turning circle of 8.80M. cylinder capacity 767CC. Top speed 90Km / h. Our neighbor’s motorbike went faster.
When we were on the fields in our House in village Mook Holland again, I was allowed to drive on the farmland roads, well, they were still there at the time. I have always been in love with this car. So small on the outside, so big on the inside! And for some extra pocket money, I cleaned it with love. I also thought the color was perfect, well, I knew what to choose. See the videos and photos of a few different cars from my father's time.

At last. Please don't you guys complain about the 1957 Video, please? There my Father pulls my brother and me along with the car in a public park where there is not even a dog to be found. The incredible speed of 2 km per hour is achieved! On YouTube, this has been removed with the warning that I will lose my YouTube channel and can never request one again. The video is a piece of history, not a daredevil. I post it again...
