TRIGGER WARNING This Fishing video features fly fishing, obnoxious music, and people catching big steelhead trout... I apologize ahead of time if you were expecting anything else from us :)

This short 7 minute video is a compilation of days of hard work, freezing waters, miles of hiking, fly fishing and drifting for hours with no fish... not showing massing poachers, encroacher's, and some other really nice folks.

Every year 2024 Orvis guide of the year, Dustin Coffey travels to the Great Lakes with his friend and Steelhead guide, Tony Gugino. Dustin, Tony, and various friends and guides have been taking on the Steelie gauntlet for about 13 years now.

These days, Dustin and I will sprint up the east coast to these frozen lakes around Thanksgiving every year to throw in our luck (and out our arms) at trying to catch these massive Steelhead trout (and some Salmon) and they move out of the lakes and into the surrounding streams for the winter.

We get up with the moon, fish all day, eat and drink, then sleep, rinse and repeat.
I can usually only last two or three days of this extreme kind if adventure. Dustin and the boys could do this all week I suppose :)
Then we spring home with Thanksgiving traffic and curse the fact that we do this every year right at this terrible time to travel.

This year we added a new trip to the local Amish farm stands (besides our normal Amish stores) and brought home some extra fine goodies like raw milk, honey, and syrup.
