Prince Charles has visited St Asaph in North Wales to see for himself the devastation left by the recent flooding and is shown the damage.

The Prince of Wales has arrived in the Welsh city of St Asaph to meet victims of the floods which have affected hundreds of people in the area.

St Asaph, in Clwyd, was one of the worst hit places in Wales, with more than 180 homes flooded and 500 evacuated.

The Prince had a private meeting with the family of Margaret Hughes, 91, who was found dead inside her home in the city and is thought to have drowned after being unable to escape the rising water.

The Prince began his visit at the Roe Park estate, which still has debris, including mattresses, doors, refrigerators and tables, piled up outside homes.

The Prince was shown around the home of newlyweds Martin and Isla Jones, where Mr Jones, 40, told the Prince there had been more than 2ft of water throughout his house, which could take around 12 months to fix and refurbish.
